Picking up and dropping off your child
The Preschool is situated within the grounds of Aston and Cote Primary School. In the morning the black iron electric gate will be open for you to walk through and enter the playground. The building is situated at the end of the playground on the left.
At pickup at 12pm (or 1pm if from Lunch Club) the electric gate will be opened by the Preschool. There is a buzzer system should you need to enter out of these hours. At pickup time at 3pm, the gate is opened by the School.
There is a book inside Playgroup where information can be passed onto the staff if a different person other than a known parent / grandparent / carer is collecting your child. Please document a telephone contact number for this person.
Clothes / Pegs / Water Bottle
Each child is allocated a peg in the cloakroom and provided with a bag for holding spare clothes. Parents must provide a spare set of clothes, a pair of ‘wellies’ that are named, waterproof trousers and a labelled water bottle. In the summer months a bottle of suntan lotion and a sun hat must also provided so that the children can make the most of the weather outside.
We like to encourage parents and carers to be involved with our Preschool as much as possible and we have a voluntary ‘Parent Helper’ rota which is located in the cloakroom. Parents can then attend a session to help. Parents who are helping must read the guidelines, sign in and out and wear the appropriate badge.
A weekly newsletter is sent out to all parents by email which provides information on the planned daily activities, events, start and end of term dates and any other useful information we think you should know.
Sickness / Absence
Please telephone the Playgroup and leave a message on the answer-phone if your child is unwell or not attending a session.
Children who have had a bout of sickness or diarrhoea should not return to the Playgroup until 48 hours have passed since the last episode.
